Here’s a positive update, as flagged by Frequent Miler

Capital One “Move Rewards” functionality is back

One of the awesome things about Capital One miles is how you can move rewards between accounts, including between select cash back cards and select mileage cards. This is a way to create a suite of Capital One cards that help you maximize rewards.

Unfortunately for the past couple of weeks, this feature has been down for maintenance, which has been frustrating for many card members. There’s some good news, as this feature has returned. You can now once again move rewards between accounts, converting cash back into miles, and vice versa, through the “Move Rewards” section of your Capital One account.

“Move Rewards” feature on Capital One website

Why this feature is so valuable

I primarily have Capital One credit cards in order to earn travel rewards that I can transfer to airline partners. Looking at my Capital One credit card strategy, I have the following four Capital One cards:

The first two cards earn Capital One miles, while the last two cards earn cash back. Each cent cash back earned on one of the two cash back cards can be converted into one Capital One mile. Since I value Capital One miles at 1.7 cents each, that’s an opportunity to increase the value of my rewards by 70%, by my valuation.

I love the ability to combine Capital One rewards

Bottom line

The ability to move Capital One rewards between accounts has been down for maintenance for the past couple of weeks, but is now finally back. That’s great news, as this is one of the best ways to create a suite of Capital One cards that can maximize your rewards.

C1 transfers to BA are back

Nope, not for me. I get the "hit a snag" thing each time I try.

BA transfer still down, no response from Capital one, customer service is non responsive. This has been a huge disaster for trying to plan a trip. Agree with frustration about BA transfer being down. Incredibly frustrating and just unacceptable. This is a huge problem and has gone on WAY TOO LONG.

Exactly, transfer to BA is still down. For probably a month now. Totally unacceptable that Capital One keeps advertising BA as a transfer partner. My miles are useless if I can’t transfer them to BA.

But British Airways transfer is down, you missed that one. How do you recommend this card when its features are down?

It isn’t a miss, Ben covered that when it happened and it hasn’t been fixed so there’s nothing new to say.

Transfers to British Airways are STILL down... WHY!?

  8. Tony Guest

What about moving to another Cap1 cardholder? I read online this was the way to do it but it's not allowing me to send it to another cardholder. Or is this feature still on hold?

    1. Brodie Guest

If you call they can move between another cardholder and you.

    2. raylan Guest

Need to call to move to another cardholder.
